Coaching sessions involve working with key components of biology that relate to healing the nervous system. Areas of experience that we may explore include sensation, emotion, awareness of the senses, beliefs and meanings, and imagery. Mindfulness is a huge piece in this work and something we’ll work together to implement.
This work should be easy. Most often we’ll work with simple conversations about day to day things to make changes in nervous system functioning. While we can talk about all the awful things that have happened in your life, I will help you discover the other aspects of your life that will be crucial in healing, and will take on greater importance to ongoing health. Being consumed by all of the things that have gone wrong is a part of how the nervous system can become stuck. Reviewing and perseverating on the awful things are a way to solidify a stuck pattern of dysregulation. I will help you change that pattern in our work together.
In addition to coaching sessions, I also offer shorter follow up calls to help support nervous system change. I offer email support between sessions to help answer questions that may come up during our work together. The change that happens from our work together is collaborative.
