ROLFING® STRUCTURAL AND MOVEMENT INTEGRATION

Rolfing is the name given to the life's work of Dr. Ida Rolf's by her first students. The focus of rolfing is to bring the body into greater alignment with gravity through making changes in connective tissue, perception, awareness, and education. It is both a manual therapy and movement therapy modality.

The spirit of Rolfing is a part of my counseling practice. Understanding how bodies move, change, express, contract, and function are all part of the counseling therapeutic process.

Rolfing is a way of having a greater sense of freedom of the body. Undergoing a series of sessions is a positive way of understanding body sensation and embodiment. Rolfing is one way of removing obstacles of trauma by freeing up associated movement patterns.
